Lycopene Soft Capsule
Directions: As a dietary supplement, take one soft capsule once, two times one day.

Tomato extract (Standardized to 6% [5mg] Lycopene): 84mg
Other Ingredients: Gelatin, glycerin, soybean oil.
**Antiatherogenic, inhibit cancer cell growth, prevent chemically induced DNA damage, treatment of oral submucous fibrosis, increase sperm concentration and reactiveness, relieve ultra-violet damage.
Epidemiological findings confirm the observed health effects are due to the presence of different antioxidant molecules such as carotenoids, particularly lycopene.
Lycopene is a natural pigment synthesized by plants and microorganisms, and it is mainly found in tomatoes. It is an acyclic isomer of beta-carotene and one of the most potent antioxidants. Regular consumption of lycopene has been associated with decreased risk of chronic degenerative diseases including cancer. Lycopene is involved in the modulation of the gap junction intercellular communication to inhibit cancer cell growth.
Lycopene exerts an antiatherogenic effect by inhibiting the expression of inflammatory agents.
Several studies have demonstrated the ability of lycopene to prevent chemically induced DNA damage.
Lycopene can and should be used as a first line of therapy in the initial management of oral submucous fibrosis.
Excessive generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) containing free oxygen radicals has been identified as one of the causes of male infertility. Oral Lycopene therapy seems to have a role in the management of idiopathic male infertility. Maximum improvement seems to occur in the sperm concentration (66% cases). Patients without severe oligospermia (sperm density > 5 million/ml) may be given a trial of therapy with lycopene.
