Description:
Porcine pancreatic elastase is a serine protease that hydrolyses amides and esters. Elastase is distinctive in that it acts upon elastin. The optimum pH is 8. 5. Soybean trypsin inhibitor and kallikrein inhibitor suppress its proteolytic but not elastolytic activity.
It is chromatographically purified to remove trace contaminating proteases.
