Agaricus Blazei Murill is traditionally known as \"God\'s Mushroom\" or \"The King of Mushrooms\" due to its health enhancing effects. It originates from Piedale, which is located in the suburbs of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Natives for many years consumed it as part of their regular diet.
Though Agaricus Blazei murill was discovered in Japan, where Japanese growers are producing it commercially. With rich nutrients and delicious taste, it is an edible mushroom with abundant sugar and protein content. There are 40-45% of crude proteins, 38-45% of sugars, 6-8% of fiber, 5-7% of coarse ashes, 3-4% of crude fat as well as vitamins B1 and B2 in 100g of dry mushroom.
Japanese researchers have done the most studies on its medicinal effects. Of all Oriental mushrooms tested, Agaricus Blazei Murill has the highest concentration of polysaccharide and 尾 -D-glucan, which are believed to be the compounds responsible for its immune-boosting effects. In addition, research has shown that it has anti-tumor and anti-viral activity, anti-cancer, as well as moderating effects on blood sugar and cholesterol.
The active components of Agaricus blazei Murill are believed to be its 尾 -D-glucan polysaccharides and polysaccharides. The 尾 -D-glucan and other polysaccharides specifically activate the immune system\'s cells (such as macrophages, interferon, T cells, and natural killer cells) in order to prevent the multiplication, metastasis (spreading) and recurrence of cancer cells.
