AgCdo alloy is used most widely in being used as switch contact for igniter in magnetic starter,high -power relay,and electric welder,medium and large power contact materials, generally and also as contact for contactor and air electrical appliance.

AgCdo is reputed as "universal" contact material ,is used for kinds of electrical appliance. The proportion of cadimium oxide in usual argentine cadmium oxide material is about 5%-15%,mainly including AgCdO8,AgCdo10,AgCdo12 and AgCdo15,Argentine Cadmium oxide owes the merits of high electric conductivity,fine resistivity to electrical wear and fusion welding,low and stable contact resistance, and exellent arc-extinguishing function.
