The molecular formula of trichloroaldehye is CCl3CHO, molecular weight 147.5. There are two methods to produce trichloroaldehy in industry, i.e. chloridizing process with ethanol and oxidizing process with aldehyde. The chloridizing process with ethanol is adapted in this group.
Use:
Trichloroaldehyde is mainly used as a raw material to produce insecticides, eg. DDT, dipterex, etc. It can also be used in medical industry and other organic synythetic industry |
