Sodium nitrite:
Properties:
1) White or light yellow prismatic crystal
2) Density: 2.168
3) Melting point: 271 Celsius Degree
4) Easy to dissolve in water and alcohol
5) Micro-dissolve in ether, noxious
6) Decomposition temperature is 320 Celsius Degree
7) It can inflammation and explosive while mixed with organic compound
8) It has oxidation and reduction susceptibility and can easy become
diazoamino compounds with amino under low temperature
Applications:
1) Produce nitro-compounds and azo dyes, fabric dye mordant and bleaching
agent
2) Produce metal heat treating agent
3) Cement pre-strong agent, antifreezer, medicine-making and chemical
industry

2) Moisture: 2.0% max.
3) Choridum (NaCl) content (as dry basis): 0.17% max.

heated to 529 Celsius Degree
